Ear, nose, throat (ENT) surgery is also called otolaryngology surgery. This is surgery of the head and neck areas to treat problems of the ears, nose, or throat. ENT surgery is performed by an otolaryngologist. This is a doctor trained to treat patients with disorders and diseases of the ears, nose, throat, and other structures of the neck and face.

Types of ENT surgery
Common ENT problems that may require surgery include:
- Frequent ear or sinus infections
- Sinus pain
- Deviated septum (where the wall between your nostrils is off-centre)
- Vocal cord disorders
- Tonsillitis
- Swallowing disorders
ENT surgery may also be needed for head or neck tumours or for facial injuries.
