Reconstructive surgery encompasses a wide variety of procedures done by plastic surgeons to reconstruct damaged tissues. These include breast reconstruction after mastectomy, breast reduction, facial surgery, hand surgery, and numerous other procedures.
Plastic surgery for the hand includes fixing more complicated fractures where surgery is required to align the broken bone fragments, repair severed nerves or tendons, or address certain conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome or trigger finger.
