Services Provided
Our team of talented physicians are experts in providing medical care at the Paediatric Lifestyle Clinic. Your child may be eligible to be enrolled into the Lifestyle Clinic if they have a significantly high body mass index (BMI) and/or have other health concerns. Specific criteria are available on the referral form below. Currently, we are experiencing a large volume of referrals and appreciate your patience and interest.
Our diverse team of registered dietitians are dedicated to collaborating with your child and family to provide individualized advice to achieve their personal health goals. How often your child will meet with our dietitians will depend on their unique needs. Please note that there is no physician associated with individual dietary counselling. Therefore, patients must continue to receive medical care and monitoring from their referring physician while attending dietitian-led counselling.
We are excited to announce that beginning April 25, 2023 we will begin offering the Striving for Sustainable, Healthy and Improved Nutrition and Exercise (SSHINE) Program! This group education program will be led by a Registered Dietitian and Nurse Educator and will focus on healthy food, fitness education and mental well being. Your child will have the option to attend them in person or virtually.
How to become a patient at the Paediatric Lifestyle Clinic
To register your child for physician-based care, individual dietitian counselling, or group workshops, kindly ask your child’s primary care physician to complete and fax the referral form below to our Paediatric Lifestyle Clinic team:
Once your child’s referral has been processed, your child’s primary care physician will be notified and you will be contacted by our team to discuss next steps.
Our Team Members and What They Do
Paediatricians are physicians who specialize in diagnosing and treating a variety of childhood diseases. Paediatric Endocrinologists are physicians who particularly specialize in diagnosing and treating childhood hormone-related diseases (e.g. diabetes, polycystic ovarian syndrome, thyroid dysfunction). Both types of physicians oversee the medical care of our patients and work very closely with each member of the multidisciplinary team.
Administering care according to each patient’s unique plan of care can look different for each person. Our Registered Nurses work very closely with the patient and the rest of the team to ensure the patient is receiving all the clinical care that they need.
Good nutrition plays an important role in health management. Our Registered Dietitians offer expertise in food and nutrition and can help improve your child’s health by providing education on healthy eating and supporting healthy behaviours.
Managing chronic illness can be stressful. Luckily mental health support staff are specially trained to provide support and encouragement to your child if they are experiencing feelings of distress, depression or anxiety.
Thanks to our clinical secretary, our team is able to run smoothly! They are best equipped to handle any scheduling and administrative inquiries.
