Our surgical program at Markham Stouffville Hospital includes outpatient clinics, which are clinics where you do not have to be admitted or stay overnight at the hospital.
Our outpatient surgical clinics are staffed by experts in each specialty field. The goal of these clinics is to provide you with the right care, at the right time, in the right place.

Going home after Outpatient Surgery
For legal reasons and your own personal safety, you must be accompanied by a responsible adult after receiving anaesthesia or sedation. If the person driving you home is not waiting at the hospital, give the nurse a phone number where they can be reached. Your ride should be available to pick you up as early as 1.5 hours after the end of your surgery.
If you take a taxi or bus home, ensure there is a family member/friend to accompany you.
