Oak Valley Health is partnering with Addiction Services Central Ontario (ASCO) to provide a Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) clinic for quick access to quality care. The RAAM clinic supports individuals who are looking for help with their problematic substance use such as alcohol, cannabis, cocaine, or opioids.
Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine (RAAM) clinics are open during specific clinic times. Oak Valley Health’s RAAM clinic is open for client appointments every Friday through in-person and virtual care by appointment only.
What to Expect in the Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic
The clinic team has experience treating individuals struggling with substance use. They will:
- Assess your situation in order to determine how to help you
- Provide treatment recommendations
- Refer you to community services such as counselling programs as needed
- Discuss all options, including the use of safe, effective, and non-addictive medication that will help to lessen cravings and withdrawal symptoms
If you are feeling anxious or hesitant about going to a RAAM Clinic, consider bringing a supportive person with you. Changing your substance use can be very difficult, and having someone with you while you speak to the team may make you feel less overwhelmed and less alone.
