Dr. Thanu Ruban is a rheumatologist with a special interest in inflammatory arthritis and osteoporosis. She has a full-time private practice at Markham Rheumatology Hub. This multidisciplinary clinic offers collaborative care for patients with autoimmune and musculoskeletal disorders with a focus on rehabilitation through physiotherapy, occupational therapy and various other allied health services.

Dr. Ruban completed medical school at McMaster University in 2008. After finishing her internal medicine residency at McMaster University, she went on to complete her rheumatology fellowship at the University of Toronto in 2014.

Outside of clinical practice, she is involved with teaching and advocacy work. She takes on medical students, residents and rheumatology fellows for medical electives in rheumatology as a lecturer with the University of Toronto. She has been an active member of the Ontario Rheumatology Association and Canadian Rheumatology Association. In 2021, she was awarded the Early Career Rheumatologist award for her passion and commitment to meeting the growing needs of the rheumatology community.
