Dr. Golnar Rasty became the Chief of the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Oak Valley Health in 2016.
She is also an assessor for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, an assessor for the Institute of Quality Management in Healthcare and assessor for the Area of Focused Competence in Cytopathology, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She is an associate professor at University of Toronto and a gynaecology pathology consultant for Mount Sinai Hospital.
Previously, Dr. Rasty was the Director of Clinical Fellowship Program, Laboratory Medicine and Pathophysiology, University of Toronto; Chair of Anatomic Pathology Section, Canadian Association of Pathology; and Director of Cytopathology Division, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
Dr. Rasty received her residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Florida and completed an additional fellowship year in surgical pathology with a focus on gynaecology and breast pathology. This was followed by an additional year of cytopathology fellowship at University of Florida.
