If you’ve ever been to Uxbridge Hospital, you’ve likely run into Megan Denby. Megan is an administrative assistant at Uxbridge Hospital, where she has worked since 2014. Megan has held many roles at Uxbridge Hospital, including patient registration, unit secretary, and now administrative assistant.
Megan’s role offers a lot of variety and is very fast-paced, something she enjoys. However, Megan’s favourite part of her job is the people that she works with.
“Having been at Uxbridge Hospital for several years, I’ve met a lot of fantastic people who have become my friends and work family,” says Megan.
“I can honestly say I look forward to coming to work every day and it’s the people who make it special.”
When Megan was younger, she wanted to be a doctor, like her uncle. As she got older, she leaned toward becoming a nurse or a dental assistant.
“I worked in dental for over 30 years and always regretted not becoming a nurse,” says Megan. “It’s been wonderful having the opportunity to work at the hospital in another capacity.”
In her spare time, Megan loves to keep busy and has a photography business that makes that pretty easy. Megan shoots weddings, family and couple sessions ,and maternity shoots. Photography is a true passion of hers. Outside of photography, Megan loves spending time with family.
“Family time is super important to me” says Megan. “I enjoy hanging out with my wife, my children and their spouses and sitting on the floor playing with my grandchildren. Hiking, baseball and spending time at the arenas and soccer fields keep me busy as well.”
