Dr. John Maxted graduated from the University of Ottawa and earned his Certification and Fellowship with the College of Family Physicians of Canada. He received his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Toronto. Dr. Maxted practises comprehensive family medicine and is involved in teaching and administration at the Health for All Family Health Team / Markham Family Medicine Teaching Unit, which he helped to establish in 2010, serving as Board Chair for the first seven years. Dr. Maxted is Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto. With expertise in patient safety and significant event analysis, he is a leader and advocate for patient safety. Dr. Maxted is a former Board Director of the Canadian Public Health Association, Chatham Public General Hospital, and Grand River Hospital. He is currently a Board Director for Health Standards Organization (Accreditation Canada) and the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
