Angel Brazeau-Taylor is a full time hospitalist midwife working in the Alongside Midwifery Unit (AMU). She previously worked for several years with the Markham Stouffville Midwives providing prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care to women and their families. She has held privileges at Oak Valley Health’s Markham Stouffville Hospital since 2005.

She worked to expand midwifery scope of practice within the Markham Stouffville Hospital by creating processes to have midwives as surgical assist in caesarean section. This allows clients to have timely intervention and preserves continuity of care. She has participated in providing women with alternative care models, including group prenatal care which encourages women to be involved in their own prenatal care.

She is registered with the College of Midwives of Ontario (CMO) and maintains current certification in CPR, neonatal resuscitation, emergency skills and fetal health surveillance. She is a member of the Childbirth and Children’ Services’ Operations Committee as well as the AMU’s Operations Committee. Previously, she was part of the QBP Hyperbilirubinemia Committee and the AMU Steering Committee.

Angel also offers midwifery services in both French and English languages.
