Alexia Singh is a full time practicing midwife with Markham Stouffville Midwives and has held privileges at Oak Valley Health’s Markham Stouffville Hospital since 2015.

Her areas of interest include improving exclusive breastfeeding rates, skin-to- skin contact, working with under resourced community members and the benefits of a holistic and family centred approach to prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care.

She is registered with the College of Midwives of Ontario (CMO) and maintains current certification in CPR, Neonatal Resuscitation, Emergency Skills and Fetal Health Surveillance.

She is a member of the MSH breastfeeding committee, the AMU Consumer Advisory Committee and lead of the skin-to-skin C-section working group. Alexia is a preceptor with the Midwifery Education Program and mentors students who identify as Black, Indigenous and people of colour.

Alexia is quite passionate about informed choice and facilitating the improvement of health literacy for all individuals.
