We understand that being at the hospital may be a stressful time for you and your family. Rest assured that we at Oak Valley Health are here to support you. While spending time at Markham Stouffville Hospital, there are places that you can visit to rest, relax, and to eat.

Ronald McDonald House

Situated directly off the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and steps away from the Paediatric Unit of the hospital, the Ronald McDonald Family Room is a soothing place of comfort, care, and compassion for families whose children are receiving hospital treatment. It is equipped with two kitchenettes, two lounge areas with televisions, a bathroom with shower facilities, and provisions for napping.

Druxy's

Located in building A in the Main Lobby, Druxy’s offers fresh coffee, tea, juices, pastries, and lunch items.

Tim Hortons

This is available in the main lobby with full service. A smaller kiosk is located near the Emergency Department.

Waiting Room Café

This is located in the medical building by Dale’s Pharmacy. Here you will be able to enjoy freshly prepared sandwiches, salads, soups, and many others.

Dale’s Pharmacy

Dale’s Pharmacy is located in the medical building. Here you can fill your prescriptions and purchase over-the-counter medications. You will also find a selection of refreshments and other items.

Gift shop

The gift shop at Markham Stouffville Hospital is located in the main lobby and is open Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., and Saturday – Sunday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Cornell Community Centre and Library

Located along the east edge of Markham Stouffville Hospital on Bur Oak Avenue at Church Street (and physically attached to the hospital), Cornell Community Centre and Library boasts an array of unique features promoting education, community, fitness, inclusion, and accessibility.

These include:

  • Multi-level, fully-equipped health and fitness centre
  • Indoor playground
  • Youth centre
  • Three pool areas including a therapy pool, water slide, and splash pad
  • A triple gym
  • Multi-sensory room for toddlers and individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, dementia, or brain injury
  • Library with books, magazines and other resources, children and youth sections, and study rooms
