Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs are available at Markham Stouffville Hospital near the link lobby entrance, the Emergency Department entrance, and the medical office building main entrance.

At Uxbridge Hospital, wheelchairs are located in the Emergency Department entrance.

Accessible parking

At Markham Stouffville Hospital, accessible parking spots are available in the main parking lot close to the main hospital entrance and in the parking lots to the south of the hospital, by the Emergency Department.

At Uxbridge Hospital, accessible parking spots are available in the main parking lot close to the main hospital entrance.

Handi-Transit (Uxbridge Hospital only)

The pick-up and drop-off location is outside the main entrance of Uxbridge Hospital in the covered area.

Sign Language interpreters

Sign language interpreters are available at both Markham Stouffville Hospital and Uxbridge Hospital. If you need a sign language interpreter, please inform a staff member before your appointment so we can provide one for you.

We are proud to offer these services to ensure an extraordinary patient experience to everyone who comes to Oak Valley Health.

Communication aides

Please feel free to bring your communication aides from home. The hospital provides accessible pay phones, teletypewriters (TTYs), and other assistive devices when needed.

Accessibility features

At Markham Stouffville Hospital, the link lobby entrance, Emergency Department entrance, medical office building entrance, and health services building entrance have automatic doors and are accessible by wheelchair and scooter.

At Uxbridge Hospital, the main entrance and the Emergency Department entrance have automatic doors and are accessible by wheelchair and scooter.

Accessible washrooms with automatic or push button openers are available on each floor of both hospitals. Look for accessible signs above the doors.

All elevators have keys with braille lettering. Accessible public telephones are available off of the main lobby and on the patient floor.
