The Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) and Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) awarded Oak Valley Health the 2015 Quality Healthcare Workplace Award – Silver Level.


Since 2010, health care organizations from across Ontario have participated in this program and continue to raise the bar of excellence for quality health care workplaces. This award is designed to encourage self-evaluation, learning, and improvement.  

Healthy and vibrant workplace

 A Healthy and Vibrant Workplace policy provides the umbrella for a comprehensive workplace health promotion approach. A Healthy and Vibrant Workplace Committee exists with various representations. The committee’s purpose is to ensure Oak Valley Health is a healthy and vibrant workplace through the development, implementation, evaluation, and support of comprehensive workplace health promotion programs/initiatives/activities. Some of the events organized by the committee have included wellness expos, health screening fairs, safety fairs, lunch time exercise, lunch and learns, Doc Fit program, radiation safety, reproductive hazard assessments, various health and wellness displays, weight loss programs, walk for wellness, flu shot clinics, employee assistance program (EAP), discount gym membership, and on-site massage therapy.
