Markham Stouffville Hospital is thrilled to announce the arrival of its first baby of 2025! Born at 3:33 a.m. on January 1, 2025, Lennox entered the world weighing 3030 grams and measuring 20 inches. Her proud parents are overjoyed to welcome their newest family member.
Lennox is the first New Year’s baby to be born in the hospital’s state-of-the-art Alongside Midwifery Unit (AMU). The AMU, part of our commitment to family-centred care, provides families with a home-like birthing experience supported by midwifery expertise.
“We’re so grateful to the fantastic team at Markham Stouffville Hospital for their care and support,” says Lennox’s parents. “Having our second baby in the AMU has been a wonderful experience – the staff are so caring and wonderful. Starting the year with our new baby is going to be something special that we will always remember.”
Welcoming the first baby of the year is always an exciting moment at the hospital and for all staff and teams involved in the delivery.
“We are honoured to play a role in such a joyful occasion and wish the family a wonderful year ahead,” says Silva Nercessian, patient care director, Childbirth and Children’s Services, Alongside Midwifery Unit, and diabetes programs.
Congratulations to the parents on the beautiful new addition to their family! We wish them and all our 2025 babies a happy, healthy start to the new year.
