New long-term care home will bring 192 modern long-term care beds to the Uxbridge community
The long-term care beds that are part of our Uxbridge Hospital redevelopment have now been approved. The long-term care home, which will be run by UniversalCare Canada, will have 192 modern long-term care beds, 92 of which are new to the region.
The new space will provide much needed support for the community of Uxbridge and beyond with both long-term care and post-acute beds. The campus of care model will feature a new hospital, a long-term care home, and an ambulatory care building.

“This is an exciting milestone for Oak Valley Health and the communities we serve,” says Mark Fam, our President and CEO. “This new long-term care home will be connected to the new Uxbridge Hospital. This campus of care model will deliver the highest level of quality care and help bring our organization’s Vision of Integrated Care for Healthier Communities to life.”
Announced last week, early works construction as part of our Uxbridge Hospital redevelopment has also been approved to begin the needed work to lay the groundwork for future construction. Site work is set to begin once the construction contract is awarded and is scheduled to be completed prior to the main project commencing construction.
Please note: We are still in the early stages of design and the renderings shared may not be representative of the final long-term care building.
