As a community hospital, we are honoured to care and this includes the care we put into educating our staff, students, patients, and families to provide an extraordinary experience.

In 2019, with the vision of becoming a learning organization, extensive stakeholder engagement was carried out with the goal of developing our Academic Plan. This resulted in an academic framework and these clearly-defined outcome objectives that will guide us for the next five years:

  • Enhance the academic reputation of the organization
  • Focus on key areas that will set the organization apart from other organizations
  • Provide an exceptional learner experience

Our staff engage in continuous professional development, research, and quality improvement initiatives in order to maintain their competencies and contribute to excellence in practice.

Vision

Our vision is to ensure that clinical departments provide students and trainees an excellent hands-on experience in a community setting within the parameters of the defined clinical program to which they belong.

Mission

We will continue to strive and develop objectives for positive educational experiences. We will establish new goals as we further improve our innovative strategic goals for continuing excellence in education.
