Subarna is a Critical Care Physician and health system leader with over a decade of experience in hospital-based and regional critical care delivery. She currently serves as the Division Lead for Critical Care Medicine at Oak Valley Health, where she oversees operations for a 24-bed ICU and has led the implementation of key initiatives such as a dialysis program for critically ill patients, a two-intensivist care model, and a Critical Care Response Team.
In addition to her hospital leadership role, Subarna is the Central Region Lead for Clinical Critical Care for Ontario Health. Her responsibilities include overseeing the equitable allocation of ICU beds, supporting regional surge planning, advising on health human resources, and standardizing critical care practices across sites. She works in close collaboration with Ontario Health and Critical Care Services Ontario to support high-quality and timely access to critical care services. She is currently helping lead the design and implementation of a multi-year pilot for a long-term acute ICU in the region.
At Oak Valley Health, Subarna co-chairs the Drug and Therapeutics Committee and also sits on the Board of Directors for Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation.
